Using Chirper
These terms govern use of the Chirper website and Discord bot. “Chirper,” “we,” and “our” refer to the team operating the service. By using Chirper, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
Chirper is currently under development. Features described here apply when they become available. Any preview or early-access feature may change before release.
This agreement is between you and Chirper. Discord is not a party to it and is not responsible for our service. Chirper is an independent project and is not endorsed by Discord. Your use of Discord remains subject to Discord’s Terms of Service and Community Guidelines; these terms do not override them.
Who can use the service
You must meet Discord’s minimum age requirement for your country or region. If you are not old enough to enter into a binding agreement where you live, your parent or legal guardian must agree to these terms on your behalf.
Use a Discord account you are authorized to access. You are responsible for the content and actions you knowingly submit through that account. Tell us if you believe unauthorized activity has affected your use of Chirper.
If you configure Chirper for a server or organization, you must have permission to act for it. Server administrators are responsible for choosing appropriate channels, permissions, and settings and for explaining any additional server rules to members.
The service
Chirper provides social posting features within Discord for roleplay communities. Available features may include profiles, posts, replies, follows, and reactions. Availability depends on the bot’s current release, server settings, and Discord permissions.
Roleplay profiles and posts should be understood in their context. Chirper does not verify every fictional identity, statement, or user submission. Do not represent a roleplay account as an official account belonging to another person or organization in a misleading way.
We may introduce, change, limit, or retire features. If a future feature requires payment, its price, renewal terms, and any applicable refund conditions must be presented before you agree to purchase it. Using this website alone does not enroll you in a paid service.
Acceptable use
Use Chirper in accordance with the law, these terms, Discord’s rules, and the rules of the server you are using it in. Do not use Chirper to:
- Harass, threaten, exploit, or target people with hateful conduct.
- Share someone’s private information without permission, deceive people about your identity, or impersonate others to cause harm.
- Post unlawful material, sexual content involving minors, or content that violates another person’s copyright, privacy, or other rights.
- Distribute malware, run scams, send spam, or promote illegal activity.
- Evade bans or restrictions, abuse commands, overwhelm the service, or bypass access controls.
- Scrape personal data, misuse information obtained through Chirper, or interfere with other people’s accounts.
Describing something as fictional, a joke, or roleplay does not excuse conduct that breaks these rules. Anonymous posting features remain subject to the same rules.
Your content
You retain the rights you have in content you submit. You must have the rights and permissions needed to share that content and must not upload information you are not entitled to disclose.
You give Chirper a non-exclusive permission to store, process, reproduce, format, and display your content only as needed to provide and maintain the features you use. This includes sending it through Discord and showing it to the audience you select through the relevant feature and server settings. Providers working for Chirper may handle it for those same purposes.
This permission does not transfer ownership to Chirper or authorize unrelated commercial use of your content. It ends when the content is deleted from our service, except for handling required by law. Copies held independently by Discord or other users are outside Chirper’s control.
Consider your audience before posting. We cannot prevent another user from saving or sharing content they can access, and an anonymous display option is not a guarantee of anonymity.
Reports and moderation
We may remove content, limit features, suspend accounts or servers from using Chirper, or otherwise restrict access when reasonably necessary to enforce these terms, address abuse, comply with legal obligations, protect users, or maintain the security and operation of the service.
Serious or urgent issues may require action without advance notice. We do not promise to review every item before it appears.
To report content, abuse, or an apparent mistake in a moderation decision, contact the Chirper team through our support Discord. Include relevant message links or identifiers and a brief explanation. Do not repost harmful material or disclose private information publicly.
Server moderators may enforce their own server rules independently. Discord also controls access to its platform. Contact the relevant server team or Discord about decisions they make.
Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains the information Chirper handles, why it is needed, and how to request access, correction, or deletion. Using the service does not give us permission for unrelated uses of your personal information.
Do not send us your Discord password, account token, or other login credentials. Be careful with information placed in profiles, posts, and support requests.
Availability and responsibility
We aim to provide a useful, reliable service, but Chirper may be interrupted by maintenance, bugs, provider outages, or changes to Discord. Early-access features can be incomplete. Keep your own copies of content you need to retain.
To the extent allowed by law, the service is provided as available, without a promise that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or suitable for every purpose. We are not responsible for content or actions independently controlled by other users, server owners, Discord, or linked websites.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Chirper is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of the service. Nothing in these terms excludes liability for fraud, willful misconduct, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. These terms do not take away mandatory consumer rights.
Stopping use
You can stop using Chirper at any time. An authorized server administrator can remove the bot from their server. If you also want information held by Chirper removed, follow the request process in the Privacy Policy.
We may suspend or end access for a material breach of these terms, legal requirements, or a reasonable need to protect the service and its users. Where practical, we will explain the reason and offer a way to raise a concern through support.
If we discontinue Chirper, we will provide notice where reasonably possible and handle remaining personal information under the Privacy Policy. Provisions that need to continue after use ends, such as responsibility for earlier conduct and limits allowed by law, remain applicable.
Changes and contact
We may revise these terms as the service develops. We will update the date above and provide reasonable notice of material changes through the website or support server. Changes apply going forward. If you do not accept revised terms, stop using Chirper before they take effect. We will seek renewed agreement where required by law.
If part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest remains in effect to the extent allowed by law. A decision not to enforce a provision immediately does not waive the right to enforce it later.
Questions about these terms?
Contact the Chirper team on Discord. We encourage you to contact us about a dispute so we can try to resolve it. This does not limit your right to seek a remedy available under applicable law.
